January 23rd.. one of our favourite days of the year.
Everybody loves a pie, whether warmed up and served with dinner, cut in half and saved for later, or eaten cold straight from the packet. There's a pie for every occasion.
The reason for national pie day? Well, it's in the name. It's a day to just celebrate pies and it comes around every year on the 23rd of January.
National Pie Day was started in America by a gentleman called Charlie Papazian, and it's been running every year since. The reason Charlie declared this day as National Pie Day is because that's also his birthday.
Clever huh? I wonder if he celebrates that too with a pie each year.
